6. Out Of Business

The last few years at Colonial were very different from years past. Struggling to find the money to stay in business they began looking for ways to cut corners. Laying off employees to a bare minimum was one attempt. Cutting steps out of the knife production was another. They stopped putting the badges on the front of knives,only made a few models and at one point even bought knives from Pakistan to re sell.

 

Despite the attempts they couldn’t save the company and went out of business in 1998.

 

There was an auction on may 29th 2002 selling everything inside the factory.
